About Dr. Smiley

Dr. Smiley was born and raised in Michigan, but has spent time in Atlanta, Chicago, and Columbus before settling here in Cincinnati. He has adopted the city of Cincinnati and has become an avid Bengals fan! He received his undergraduate degree in business administration from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. After a brief career in human resources consulting, he left the business world to attend medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, where he met his wife. His passion for working with children led him to pursue general pediatrics training at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. He spent three years as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University School of Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Smiley loves to watch his patients grow and develop and enjoys helping families navigate the journey of childhood from infancy to adolescence. He has a special interest in helping children and their families build healthy lifestyle habits, specifically healthy nutritional, activity, and sleep habits. Dr. Smiley has worked extensively with children who struggle with excess weight gain to help them create behavioral change goals and develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Dr. Smiley enjoys sports, the outdoors, and most of all, spending time with his wife and two children.
